Pooja and I were discussing the ending of the movie Inception right after we watched it and asked Stephanie for her opinion. She came up with a totally original idea: 'It means that this movie has ...a sequel!'

On the phone....
Raaji: Hello?
Faz: Hello?
Raaji: Hello.
Faz: Hello.
Raaji: Hello!
Faz: Helloo!
Raaji: HELLO!!
Faz: Yeah, any time you want to move past the hello stage.
Raaji: Jerk! I thought you couldnt hear me!

Marvin and Raaji talking on the phone one late night, Raaji going on and on about something, Marvin replying with an occasional, "hmm" or "ahan". Then Raaji realizes,
Raaji: Aww, you are tired right?
Marvin: Yes, very much.
Raaji: Aww, alright dear, I will let you sleep then.
Marvin (in all seriousness): Thank you.

Sorry, I am too busy. I cant use my brain at the moment.

At Philly airport, a guy was complaining at the help desk because his plane was late.
Man: But I have a First Class Ticket!
Employee: First Class or Economy, the plane leaves at the same time!

You are only supposed to ask me questions that I have the answers to!

Faz (sort of angry): I just realized I am a jerk!
Raaji: FI-NA-LYYY! :-P

And this one is an absolute classic:
"No, I do NOT want to be on your mating list! Oh, I mean your mailing list.

Separate Ways

The only time when all the commuter trains leave the station around about the same time is at the end of the work day. The station is packed and so are all the trains all parked parallel to each other. These trains take many tired people to their suburban homes only to bring them back to the city the next morning. I happen to be one of them. Almost every day when I board my train, I specifically find a seat by the window so that I can enjoy the scenery once the train starts rolling.
Usually when two trains leave the station, they run parallel for a little while before splitting to different directions. Sometimes, they come so close to each other that you can almost take your hand out and touch the window pane of the other train.
Sometimes you can see people sitting in there through the tainted glass. Sometimes you briefly make eye contact with a stranger in the other train before the trains start to drift apart.
Everyday, I anticipate the train coming close to me, making a brief contact and then leaving just as I anticipate people to come close to me, make some contact and then leave, and I never find them the same way again.
Some days it is surreal - watching them come close and smiling at them. At other times it is painful knowing that they will leave. And some days I can't bear to sit on that side of the train knowing fully in my heart that I wouldn't want them to leave.

Alike
by ©
Raajii
They are all alike. Those who say that they will love you forever and those who are totally indifferent towards you. They are all alike. Those who claim they felt the pain and those who inflict that pain. They are alike. Those who are heartbroken and those who broke the heart. Those who make promises and break them with no remorse, and those who leave you halfway. Those who vow to protect you and those who stab you in the heart. They are all alike. Those who love passionately and those who kill you softly. All Alike.
We are bound to be both predators and victims. Humans - we are all alike.

Odd Gifts

What is the weirdest/oddest gift you have ever received?

Here is my story:
One fine afternoon, I was trying to find my way around the confusing Chicago downtown Loop in search of a Starbucks. I badly needed a cup of coffee to save my life because it was a particularly stressful day at work. As I turned around a corner, I saw a perfectly sane and a nice looking gentleman walking towards me. Well, he wasn't really walking towards me, he was walking past me since we were both on the sidewalk going in opposite directions. I saw him. He saw me. Nothing magical happened. I looked away the next moment. He was coming out of the pharmacy and I was heading towards the coffee shop right next to it. But somehow, after the guy passed by me, he turned around and stopped me.
"Excuse me?" I heard him say.
"Yes?" I turned around to face him wondering what he wanted.
"Umm... you are very pretty," he said quietly.
Definitely, not the response I was expecting. I looked at him for a moment with a confusing expression, smiled and said,
"Well... thanks."
"Umm... I don't have anything else on me right now, but... umm... here," he handed me a Gatorade bottle.
I looked at the bottle and then I looked at him now really wondering what his plans were.
"No, please... take it. It is a hot... day... and you... you are soo... umm... pretty," he was practically strutting by this point.
I hesitantly took the bottle from his hand which was almost in my face. I was wondering how to respond to all of this, but before I could say anything he said, "Have a wonderful day" and without waiting for an answer, he turned around quickly and walked away.
When he turned around I noticed that he was wearing a DePaul University shoulder bag. He must be a student there. I watched him turn around the corner and disappear.
I took a close look at the Gatorade bottle, it was still cold. Perhaps he just bought it for himself from the pharmacy. I was a little skeptical of it at first, wondering if there was some sort of drug in it, but it was sealed perfectly.
Later, I enjoyed that refreshing Lime Gatorade and smiled a little more. I may never see him again and I may never really know what exactly he was thinking when he handed me that bottle - whether it was something planned or if it was a spur-of-the-moment decision. But I got a smile and a good story out of it.
So, ladies and gentlemen, this is yours truly. Women get flowers and chocolates, I get Gatorade bottles, and I love the little things that happen in oddest of ways :-).
